Card Positioning System Weekly Challenge 164

I like doing cards from sketches.  Right now I'm trying to focus on doing thank you cards for some of the ladies that I help in Bible Study Fellowship.  Our year is coming to a close and I would like to send each one of them a thank you for all they do during the year.  These sketches are helping me get them done.

Here is CPS's sketch:

Here is my card:
Stamp:  Clear Art Stamps - sentiment and the large background stamp is from Vickie Enhoff (see note)
Paper:  Gina K Designs Chocolate Chip, White, Ivory cardstock
Other:  Vintage ribbon

A word about Vickie Enhoff - a VERY, VERY talented lady who passed away in 2007.  There is only one place to find her stamps - here.  A most talented lady, she loved Frida Kahlo and her art.  She has very unique and artsy stamps.  Here is a blog that is maintained by her daughter.  Vickie Enhoff lead a very interesting life and the art world will miss her.

Vickie was a member of many yahoogroups, but ran several of them herself as well.  A few that are continuing under the leadership of new faithful volunteers include:
Organized Studio, a group that shares ideas for organizing art items and offers support to the overwhelmed creative.

Card Patterns Weekly Sketch 61

Well, I'm a little early with this one.  We are going on a little trip to watch my oldest grandaughter play in a softball tournament.  Seeing that is is a 10 hour drive, we will start out early Friday am.  We are taking our 3 other grandchildren -- Thank goodness for car video players!  My husband's family is from Ft. Stockton, Texas so we will visit there after the tournament.

Back to my card:  Here's the sketch:
Here is my card:
Stamp:  Papertrey Ink for the flower, and Clear Art Stamps for the sentiment -- one of my FAVS!
Paper:  Gina K Designs White and Sweet Corn card stocks
Other:  Vintage ribbon and copic markers and glitter (on the flower)

Thanks for looking and HAVE A GREAT stamping day!

Little Paper Shop Color Challenge

This is for Little Paper Shop's Weekly Color Challenge.  The colors were banana, lilac and white.  I ended up using a touch of black.  I used the stamp "Flyin' By".  I have a goal to use up some of my scraps.  Oh My, do I have the scraps!! So before I make any card, I go thru them and see what I have before I cut into a new piece. My stash does not seem to get smaller though.  These are little note cards that I plan to use for Thank You notes.  Why don't you go by Little Paper Shop and link a card?  I challenged my sister to do one.   You will enjoy seeing what their Design Team makes -- I promise!

Here are the little note cards:

Little Paper Shop Project

Little Paper Shop is having their 2 year Anniversary! Congratulations are in order for them! They have an easy to navigate blog, great challenges and some very talented people on their design team. Go check it out.  One of my favorite stamps set of theirs is called Flying By.

This weeks challenge was to create a 3 D project

I found these blank stone coasters and rack at a Wal Mart on one of their clearance shelves.  I paid $5.00 for them! Wahooo, what a deal!  I stamped them with Versacolor - because it is permanent and will take the water condensation without fading.

I inked up the sentiment curved on my acrylic block with the darkest part of the Versacolor and stamped it around the coaster.  I then inked up the bird on the upper part of the ink pad (see the picture).  That way the branch with a dark blue and the bird is shaded several colors of blue.  I've used these every day this week and so far no fading.  I'm going back to see if I can find more of these and plan to ink up Christmas scenes (snowflakes, etc) for Christmas presents!

Thanks for looking and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Please check out the links of all the participating designers and then download the Recipe booklet and let us know how you like them!

Card Positioning System Challenge 162

It has been hard to stay indoors and make cards.  This time of the year in Texas is amazing.  We have had high 70's days with low humidity.  The bluebonnets are blooming and the azaleas are BEAUTIFUL  this year.  Tyler has a big Azalea Trail thru some of the prettiest gardens.  Better take advantage of it! These type of days are too few around here.  Soon it will be in the high 90s with 90% humidity! UGH...

Here is my card for this week's Card Positioning System Challenge:
Stamp:  Gina K Designs Have a Cookie by Melanie Muenchinger
Paper:  Gina K Designs White & Chocolate Chip cardstock, dp is Imaginisce
Other:  Cuttlebug and copic markers

CPS has such interesting sketch challenges - check out their blog.

ROUND TOP WEEKEND, #3

Ok, here goes again--- Some more sights at ROUNDTOP/WARRENTON!
One of the fabulous things about this event is the antiquing/junking -- and the art -- oh my goodness, you will never in your life see such a collection of art -- and weird.

Now for beautiful things you can see.  Paris Montana has SERIOUS bling.  If you like vintage, impressive bling, she has it.  Here is her venue

She does serious events like the Barrett-Jackson Auction and Vintage Vixens in Chula Vista, Ca. She is the ONE for Boho Street Chic.  Check out her blog here.  You will be impressed!

Here is where you will find good coffee!

Here is another great vendor.  They have VERY impressive merchandise.

The name of their company is Magnolia Pearl.  They specialize in couture, vintage lace designs. Actually, one of a kind vintage, lace, designs.  Each and every piece of lace was made by another woman's precious hands long ago. It is hard to describe all they have.  Go to their site and check them out!  Every woman needs several of her designs!

ROUND TOP WEEKEND, #2

On Friday I visited with 2 of my girls who work in the office at Marburger and then on to see what was going on with the vendors.  Here are some of the ones I visited:

Perhaps you like to collect buttons?

or

Or perhaps you like vintage ribbon -- like me:

WHATEVER you collect -- you will find it here.  You will find:

BluePigs
Relaxing Tubs:

This sweet lady in the relaxing tub is from
Alice and Jay,
They are from Georgia and have that sweet southern hospitality and some REALLY neat pieces.  This was a very comfortable place to be!

How about some Bakelite?  Oh My Goodness!! Have you ever seen so much?

Thanks for looking! Have a Great Day!!!  Tomorrow will be some of my favorites!
