Stamp of the Week for Memorial Day.

I hope everyone is remembering those in the military that have given their lives to allow us to live in the greatest country in the world.

Our family celebrated with another family from Greece.  It was a typical Texas Bar-b-que with home made peach ice cream.  My grand kids ask every time they come over if I'll make the ice cream for them.  I hope in the years to come they think back on days eating their home made ice cream on our patio watching fire flies come out at dusk.

Ok, enough of that -- here is the Stamp of the Week.  I like the look of positive/negative images.  This ART DECO look is soooo popular now!  They can make very interesting cards!  Remember this one is 50% off this week only.  It is image 5702-M.  It is Repeat Impression's Far East Collection.  So here is what you do to get your 50% of this Crowned Crane Deco image:

1.  Go to The House That Stamps Built.
There you will find the code to get the 50% off
2.   Put that code in the "special instructions" blank at the checkout section of the online order form.

PLEASE NOTE: The discount WILL NOT appear when you place your order. Once your order is ready to be shipped Wendy WILL apply the discount and process your credit card at that time. She will also send you a follow-up email to let you know your final adjusted total.  Wendy is so organized!

Here is my card:
I used Stazon ink and clear embossing powder on the image, sponged on several different colors of blue on white cardstock then mounted this on black cardstock on top of some Making Memories black and white dotted swiss dp.  I did some masking on my sentiment.  It is "Thank You for being a friend" 2524-F.   I masked off the lower part because it fit better on the Cuttlebugged oval.  It is also stamped with black ink and embossed with clear powder.

Please check out these other designers and see what awesome projects they made!

Little Paper Shop Spring Color Challenge

Little Paper Shops Spring Challenge is to use the colors pink, blue and kraft.  I love using kraft.  It goes with all colors. Here are the specs:
I was trying not to go with a baby looking theme - although these colors are perfect for baby cards.
Here are my cards
The bird stamp is called "Chirps" (love the script in this set).  The paper is Melissa Francis and the ribbon is from my stash.
This one uses the Chirp stamp set also and Melissa Francis dp, the light tan ribbon is left over from one of my daughters' wedding.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a Happy STAMPING Day

Belli Challenge 92

Using flat emblishments was our challenge for this week!  Wow - FLAT - that IS a challenge!  I used felt from Papertrey Ink for the clouds and a sunshine technique using SU So Saffron ink.  The velvet yellow/blue ribbon was from my stash.  The birds are from Gina K. Designs Gifts from the Sea by Melanie Muenchinger - a VERY talented lady and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  The Kraft and Nearly Navy card stocks are from Gina K Designs.  LOL you can tell how much of a challenge it was by how many different companies I used to get it together!

Here are the other designers joining the challenge!  Believe me -- these talented ladies will give you plenty of inspiration!

HEY, WHY NOT PLAY ALONG WITH US??  Here is what you do to play along.....

1. Anyone Can Play! Challenge your best friend!

Ok, -- I've mentioned some of my favorite stamps, but "Vase of Tulips" (1317-L) REALLY is one of my favorites.  I love tulips and this is one was easy to color.  I paper pieced the vase with paper from Basic Grey and colored with Copics.  I used a Spellbinder die and pearls on the front and SU punches for the sentiment.  Then placed it on an easel card.  This special sentiment can be used for SOOOO may occasions.  It is 2524-F.

Here is another card using this stamp

Terry asked me a few others to help celebrate the big kick off by using some of her designs with a celebration theme.  She generously sent us a bunch of elements to work with!  WAHOOO!  See what I made:
A Happy 4th of July Banner for my mantle.  These were made from pre-cut stars from Creative Cuts and More -- they have many sizeswith lots of different colors.
Invitations for our 4th Celebration.  These have the star already cut out with the scallops at the bottom - all you have to do is embellish and stamp.  I used stamps from Clear Art Stamps, and heat embossed the firecracker "pops" with glitter.
    Inside of the invitation
What's a celebration without a party favor?  These are cool, sturdy boxes for candy or treats. They are already cut - ready just to fold and embellish or stamp. I embossed with white and added glitter to the "pops".  I then filled the box with white and blue mints.  These boxes come in lots of colors and different sizes.  Check them all out at Die Cut Diva.

    Quite a Catch Blog Hop

Gina K Designs  has introduced one of the cutest stamps sets! -- I've made a couple of projects I wanted to share with you.  The first is a coaster set -- my first intention was to make these for our lake house.  I made a card to go with it - but I may now need to give it as a gift.  The coasters were SUPER SIMPLE.  Gina K has a video tutorial on how to make these here at this link.  I found these on the clearance aisle at Walmart.  I paid $5.00 for a set of 4 with a wood carrier.  I want to find more because the little carrier makes this look complete.  I'm hoping to make a couple of them for Christmas Gifts -- as soon as Gina K comes out with this year's Christmas stamps -- NEVER too early to think ahead!

The card is a shaker card - the sand is from Sand Beach in Bar Harbor, Maine:
    Stamp: Quite a Catch
Paper: Gina K Designs White cardstock, dp is from the Quite A Catch Card Set
Other:  Cuttlebug, shaker plastic, google eyes, rope ribbon from SU

    The Coaster Set:

    Stamp:  Quite a Catch
Coaster set from Walmart Clearance rack
Other:  Ribbon, google eyes, Copic Markers

    REPEAT IMPRESSIONS SKETCH CHALLENGE

Good Morning! Wendy at Repeat Impressions gave us this sketch as a challenge.  I LOVE sketch challenges because I often don't know where to start and sketches get me going.  I also love REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamps.  They have so many that I want to work with --- I started a wish list on my computer and when my birthday, mother's day or other occasion comes up -- I hand the list out to my husband and my kids -- my grandkids have a ball picking out a stamp for me.  I usually try to make a card for them using that stamp.

    So here is the sketch
    Here is my card:
The stamp is called "Jump for Joy".  He is so cute!  The sentiment is for a friend who just had a little baby girl -- after 2 boys!  She was so excited to have a little girl.
