January Papetrey Ink Dimensional Banner

Nicole at Papertrey Ink has the greatest technique of making a Dimensional Banner --  the video is here.

Here is my take on the project:
I used the stamp sets:  Mehndi Medalllion, Background Basics: Twinkle, Fillable frame #8 and Fillable Frames #5.

This was a fun technique and I'll be doing this one again soon.

Thank you for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

The Designers at Papertrey Ink challenged us to  to pick our favorite project from 2011 and share it.  To take it a step further, we were also challenged to create a second card that is inspired by the favorite project we selected.

It was hard!!!  There are so many projects I loved through out the year.  One stamp set I love was the one called Iconic Images that was a sweet free gift during the Stamp-a-faire if you ordered $100.00.  During the week of July 23, 2011, I think every Design Team member had beautiful cards and projects using this stamp.  Here is sweet Melissa's

Here is mine:
I used the "Text-style postmarks" paper and Rustic Cream and Smokey grey cardstocks; the sentiment and image are from Iconic Images stamp set.

Review the year caused to me to look over my "cards to make" list I made during the year and look forward to seeing what the Designers have for us this coming year.

Thanks for looking at my card and have a happy stamping day.

CR84FN Color Challenge 46

This week at CR84FN color challenge, this is the color palate:
I made my card and showed it to my husband -- he usually doesn't say anything about the cards I make - he's just glad I'm not after him to get to his "Honey, do" list --- when he saw this card, his comment was  "Dang, girl, couldn't you find a place to put another of those pearly things!"  He is a sweetie -- just a little silly sometimes.

So here is the pearly card:
I used a gray as my neutral and the sentiment is from Dogwood and Butterfly by Gina K. Designs.  This would be a great challenge to try.  Here is their challenge site.

Have a happy stamping day.

Stamp of the Week - Sittin' Pretty

Repeat Impressions Designers Choice Challenge by Darsie

Oh, my Darsie, one of the Design Team members of Repeat Impressions can come up with some challenging challenges!  The one for this week she asked us to make a snow scene --  not too hard -- except as a girl from East Texas, snow is not a familiar concept... LOL

Here is my card:
The stamp is Snow Sledding -- some of you may have this stamp because it was featured a few weeks ago as Stamp of the Week.  It reminds me of the Raymond Briggs snowmen - He is so sweet!  The sentiments are Wishing You (used some masking on parts I didn't need) and Take Time to Chill Out is from the  Summer Series.

Why don't you take on Darsie's challenge and show us your snow scenes?  You could be the randomly drawn winner of a nice gift certificate from Wendy at Repeat Impressions.

Here are some projects from the Design Team that will inspire you.
Thanks and have a HAPPY stamping day!

Creative Belli Challenge 135

Hi, sweet friends!  This week Darsie from Creative Belli Challenge asked us to make a card that had a frame around an image.  There are so many ways to meet this challenge.  I have a friend who just had a baby girl and made this card for her.
The paper is from Graphic45 - and actually, the frame was on one of the sheets of paper.  I outlined it with a pink Sakura glitter pen, cut and embossed the Nestabilities cross, and the bow is made from some vintage ribbon with a button with pearl accents.

Then I made this little quickie framed card for my Valentine stash.
It was made with Papertrey Ink stamps and frames.

Will you join us in this challenge?  Make a project with a frame -- then post it on the Creative Belli Challenge Blog.  We would love to see what you create!  Here is a list of the designers who will inspire you.

Thanks for looking at my card -- and we can't wait to see your project.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Stamp of the Week - Moose Snow Globe

Wendy has picked out a beautiful stamp for Stamp of the Week!  It is Moose Snow Globe.  It has fabulous detailing.  You can get this stamp for 50% off this week at Repeat Impressions.  Go to Wendy's blog and get the code there and put it in the special instructions block on the order form.

I used a Spica Glitter pen on the snow, night sky and the tree.  Wendy has those in her inventory.  These are wonderful pens and are so nice!  They glitter a card beautifully without the mess.  I have not gotten the knack of photographing glitter - but I'm working on it.
Here is a list of the Design Team members who had the opportunity to play with this stamp.   Check out their cards for some great inspiration.

Kitchen Remodel

We have lived in the same house for 28 years.  During that time we have done about 10 big and small remodels.  We've never remodel the kitchen, because I love my kitchen!  Well, I'm tired of digging for my pots and pans and not having enough  pantry room.  I love my wall paper, but my kids call it dated and even old!  LOL   My son-in-law will be doing the remodel, he is a builder and has done several of the other remodels.

In order to keep my "stuff" together, I started a "Smashbook".  I've put in some pictures - befores and some pictures and ideas from magazines.  Here are some pictures of the old kitchen.
Breakfast area and peeking into my laundry room - this will go away into my craft room - another semi-remodel.

My stove - yes, it is staying!  It is a 1901 gas Wedgewood with 6 burners, 2 ovens and a warming oven.  The oven temperature works perfectly.  I've had it for almost 30 years - and love how the gas cooks.  I also have a contemporary oven next to it -- I use both of them during large family get togethers.

Area above the breakfast table.  It will probably go away as we are thinking about raising the ceiling.

Here is my Smashbook.  My daughter Tara drew the cover.,

Thanks for reading my long post.

Creative Belli Challenge - Snowflakes

Snow, snow, snow -- we have NO snow!  In East Texas we rarely ever get snow - we just have to dream! Darsie from Creative Belli has challenged us to make a project with a snowflake on it.  I made this note little card.

I used a small piece of BoBunny paper, a MF large glitter  snowflake and cut out 2 snowflakes from glitter paper with Nestabilities and added a blue brad.  The little sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

How about meeting Darsie's challenge?  This would be an easy challenge -- and fun! Make a project that has at least one snowflake and post it to the Creative Belli blog.

Here is a list of the Creative Belli Design Team members - check them out for some great inspiration.
Thanks for looking at my card and have a HAPPY stamping day!
