Repeat Impressions Project of the Week

A few weeks ago Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions started a new weekly post and it's called Project of the Week.  Each one of the Rock Star Designers come up with a project and show/tell how the project is done.

I wanted to do some fancy gift tags for my Christmas presents this year because I plan to wrap my packages in plain kraft paper.  What  I like about this is that I started this project before most of the presents have even been bought -- so when it's time to wrap - I'll have this part of my Christmas done.  I made 20 tags and it didn't take too much time.

1.  I die cut 20 kraft tags (tags can be purchased)  The tags I die cut are about 7 inches tall.  Then I cut about 25 tags from various designer paper.

2.  Cut only the 25 designer paper tags into 2 inch strips.

3.  Stamp and color Repeat Impressions "Poinsettias" and "Do Not Open..."
4.  Use a Copic Spica Glitter Pen to highlight leaves and poinsettias.

3.  Mix and Match the cut strips to glue onto the kraft tags.

4.  Add a few embellishments including tie ribbons & twine.

The main thing that made this easy was getting all the elements together and then doing the tags assembly style.

Hope this inspires you to get a head start on special tags or gets you to thinking about your Christmas card list - Check out Wendy's selection of fantastic Christmas Stamps here at Repeat Impressions.

Thanks for looking at my project - have a HAPPY stamping day!

Classy Cards 'n Such Holiday Cheer

Hi - Joy today posting a card with products from Classy Cards 'n Such.  I said I would be posting another Christmas card from a great 6x6 paper pad called Summer Fresh.  I have loved this pad soooo much and I'm now working with scraps!  I hate to give it up, but next week I'll be getting my Christmas pads from Classy Cards 'n Such - then I can really concentrate on getting those Christmas cards done.  Here is my "scrappy" card:
I used a stamp set called Noel Christmas Ornaments from JustRite.  The red gingham & kraft tag is one of the many tags in the Summer Fresh pad.  I stamped the ornament with VersaMark on some of the blue paper in the pad and used Sparkle 'n Sprinkle White Embossing Powder.  The tiny strips were made using an amazing die set called Allison's Ribbons from Cheery Lynn Designs and added some Red Pearls(on sale - just in time for Christmas projects).

Let me show you a little trick I discovered while cutting Allison's Ribbons.  This 2 part die cuts 12 different little ribbon type embellishments.  In order not to have little pieces all over the place I did this:
When using the die, I made sure to place the die below the end of the card stock.

Then snip only the one that I need:
Now it's easy to store
Recap of supplies used from Classy Cards 'n Such for my card:
Summer Fresh 6x6 Pad
Allison's Ribbons Die
JustRite Noel Christmas Ornaments
Sparkle 'N Sprinkle White Embossing Powder
Red Pearls

Ok, hope that inspires you to check out Christmas things from Classy Cards 'n Such and start your cards!

Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge

Today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions Stamps asked Brenda to challenge us to a project.  She challenged us to a fall project.  Here is a card I made
I am so ready for fall - thanks Brenda for reminding us fall weather is just around the corner.  I used the 4 leaves called Falling Leaves to make the background.  I used a couple of copic markers to add just a touch of color to the leaves.  Then I stamped 3 Maple Leaf Silhouettes with different colors of ink, cut them out and shaded them with copics.  The sentiment is from the Autumn Flip Set.

We would love for you to join us in the challenge.  Just make a fall card and then link it on Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built.  Just think - you could be the random name drawn for a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.

Thank you for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.

Creative Belli Challenge

Darcie, owner of the Creative Belli Challenge has challenge us to a Pearls and Ribbon challenge.  So here is my card:
and the inside:

I used a Spellbinders die called Decorative Blossom Corners with some pink cardstock and backed it with some paper foil.  I used an Anna Griffin Embossing folder, tied it closed with a gold and white organdy ribbon then added the little pearls.  None of this was new - AMAZING!  Why don't you join us in the challenge?  Remember the spirit of the Belli Challenge is to use things you already have in your craft room.  No need to rush out and buy something new.  Maybe a forgotten tool, an old embellishment or maybe some paper that you have in your stash.  We would love to see what you create.  Make your project, then link it on the Creative Belli Blog here.

Hi, it's Joy today showing you a card made with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  The card was made for a sweet friend that I have not seen in a while.  Using  Classy Cards 'n Such supplies makes creating special cards easy.

The filigree background was made with a Spellbinders die called Decorative Blossom Corner, there are two sizes in the set and this is the smaller one.  I also used the Floral Ovals and a regular oval Spellbinders die.  The stamp is from Botanical Medallions & Banners by JustRite Stamps.  This is absolutely one of the best sets around because it has a ton of images and some wonderful sentiments in lovely script.  The bow is made of Eggshell Seam Binding with a little special button by Webster Pages called Medallion Sparklers (which are on sale!).  The paper is from Simple Stories called Vintage Bliss.

Classy Cards 'n Such Thanks

Hi, Joy here today.  East Texas does not look very "fallish" but I'm ready for it!  Have you ever needed a card in a hurry.  Today was that day for me.  I needed to get an encouraging card in the mail before the mail man came.  I had some great stamp sets already out on my desk from Classy Cards 'n Such so away I stamped.

Here is what came out of the pile on my desk
The paper is from French County by Graphic 45 (green), Lake House by Kaiser (pink floral and polka dot) and the wood panel is from Simple Stories called Vintage Bliss.  The Stamp Set is Autumn Blessings by Flourishes.   The sentiments in this set can be used all year along, not just the autumn.  A simple card and quick to put together.  Since there are no bows or buttons, this will be a "mail friendly" card.

Be sure to check out Classy Cards n' Such, there are a bunch of new items Beverly has added.  There is some really great Christmas things!

We WILL Never Forget

Today, will you please take a minute to remember those we lost on 9-11?  So many families still need our prayers and we still need to remember they lost someone they love.  Do you remember where you were on 9-11?

My husband and I were in England at Stonehenge the moment the 1st building crashed down.  We could not get home.  We were stuck in London for 3 days before we could get a flight out.  We finally got a flight out and there were 6 passengers on a 747.  No one wanted to get on an airplane.  We arrived in DFW to a totally empty airport - so erie!!  About the only people in that huge airport were armed military.  We were just glad to be home.

To say thank you to those who gave their lives seems so little, but it's all I can say and to remember those who gave all they had to give.

Christmas - Already?

Hi,  it Joy today posting a Christmas Card for Classy Cards 'n Such.

My goal this year is to get all my Christmas cards mailed by the first week in December -- so I've got to get going!  This uses my favorite of all time background stamp called Vine using a Mega Mount Block.  It was stamped in a light green, I turned the cardstock, inked up the blog again in a lighter green and stamped over the first stamping.  I used a red Viva Pearl Pen to make some holly berries.  I then stamped one of the ornaments and a sentiment from Just Rite's Noel Christmas Ornaments.

The ornament ended up a little too big so I fussy cut it to look like a little tag, tied on a ribbon and I was finished with my first Christmas card.  Take a look at the Christmas Stamp category at Classy Cards 'n Such and get started on your Christmas list.  But be forewarned - it may take you a while to browse, there are so many good ones!!

Thanks for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day.
