Classy Cards 'n Such Shape Challenge

Hi, it Joy today posting a card for the latest challenge from Classy Cards 'n Such.  Today the challenge is for a shaped card.  This will be a fun challenge.  Here is my card:
I used a stamp set by JustRite Stamps called Just Keep Calm.  This is a giant stamp set with 64 images and shapes.  I also used the largest die in the set by Spellbinders called Nested Medallion Labels. The stamped medallion and the sentiment stamped on the scallop die were popped up with Joy Foam pads. Since the card is shaped like a flower, the card would not fit in an ordinary envelope so I used the Envelope Punch Board.  My Envelope Punch Board stays out on my desk so it's easy to grab.  Lately it seems like my cards are not exactly 4.25 x 5.5 and the board makes it easy to fold an envelope perfectly.  I like using a thinner paper and this way I use up my old Designer Papers.

Recap of Supplies
Stamp Set:     Just Keep Calm
Dies:              Nested Medallion Labels
Other:            Joy Foam Pads
                      Envelope Punch Board

Why don't you join in the challenge? - Why not challenge a friend to join you?  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY Stamping Day!

Classy Cards 'n Such Stencil Challenge

Hi, Joy here letting you know about a great opportunity to win a prize by entering a Stencil Challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  Today Beverly, owner of Classy Cards 'n Such would like to see what you can do with stencils --- me too!!  I have so much to learn about stenciling and would love to see how you will inspire us!

So grab that stencil and show us!!  Just make your project and go to Beverly's blog, Classy Cards 'n Such and link it there.

Here is what I did - first time using Dreamweavers's Pearlescent Embossing Paste.
I used the stencil called Corner Flowers by Dreamweavers.  I spread on a thin layer of embossing paste and let it dry.
While the image was drying I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment from Hugs & Kisses by JustRite Stamps onto a stamped image of an ornament from Noel Christmas Ornaments and cut out just the center of the ornament. (which was the perfect sized frame for my sentiment)
After the flower image dried, I placed the brass stencil back over them and colored each flower with a wood peg blending tool using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I was going for a water color, blended looking image.
The cut out center was then popped up using Joy Pop-ups and added pearls to a few of the centers of the flowers.
This was then matted on teal cardstock that had been corner - rounded (is that a word?)  Ha,ha!

Recap of Supplies:
Corner Flowers Brass Stencil
Pearlescent Embossing Paste
Thinking of You sentiment
Noel Christmas Ornaments
Distress Inks
Joy Pop-up Foam Pads
White Pearls

Thanks for looking at my card - can't wait to see what you do - have a HAPPY stamping day.

Repeat Impressions Project of the Week

This week it was my turn to do a Project of the Week at Repeat Impressions.  I saw color blocking on Pinterest and wanted to try it.  Repeat Impressions has several stamps that will make it easy.  They are called "Solids".  Here they are:

I inked these up with some Tim Holtz Distress inks and randomly stamped them on cardstock.  These inks are rather translucent, so they can be stamped on top of each other which will make interesting color combinations without making a muddy color.  On the first one I stamped the color blocks, then lightly stamped a background stamp called Genealogy over the color blocks, then stamped the image called Spring Blossoms and the Thinking of you sentiment.  I lightly colored with a few copic markers and mounted this onto a piece of orchid cardstock.  FAST, FAST, FAST card.

For the second card I used an art applicator to stamp blocks of color onto my paper then stamped Genealogy,  Monarch Butterfly and Thinking of You, then shaded the butterfly with a few blue copics.
For next one I used the background Genealogy script on the lower part of the card, stamped the Clock Face, Monarch Butterfly, Small Dragonfly, Butterfly Silhouette and the Large Butterfly.
And one last project is a little bookmark.  For this I used Happy Birthday and Wings Positive.

Sorry for such a long post - but as you can probably guess, I really like "color blocking".  Thanks for looking at my Project of the Week - have a happy stamping day.

Repeat Impressions Designers Choice Challenge

Good morning, today at Repeat Impressions it is Melissa's turn to give us a challenge and she has challenged us to make a "sweet treat" project.  It could be a treat you are planning to give  or a card or project that shows a sweet treat.  Here is my project:
I made some sweet treat boxes for my grandkids to give to their class.  I made the boxes with a We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker, stamped the Roses are red sentiment from Repeat Impressions on a tag cut from a Spellbinders die and tied the tag with some ribbon to keep the little box closed.

Here is the list of the Design Team who have made projects to inspire you.
Melissa
Cheri
Deonna

Classy Cards 'n Such Hearts and Doilies Challenge

Today Classy Cards 'n Such has a wonderful challenge - especially for this time of the year!  Beverly, owner of Classy Cards 'n Such would like to see what you would do with doilies and hearts.  Here is a card I made.

Process:
Cut white doily from the Quinn Flourish
Cut small heart from Spellbinders Classic Scallop Hearts
Punch out a Friends/Family die cut from Lady Rose paper pad
Stamp Hugs & Kisses sentiment and tiny flourish on another die cut punched out from the Lady Rose paper pad.
Layer these elements and pop up with Joy Foam Pads on layered Lady Rose papers

This was a quick and easy card because the Lady Rose paper pad has 4 pages of die cuts and the papers coordinate so well.  The small scallop heart and the Quinn Flourish were cut out in one pass of my Vagabond.

Check out the projects the other Design Team member made by clicking here.  Play along with us and enter in the challenge you could win a prize!

Classy Cards 'n Such and Valentine's Cards

Classy Cards 'n Such will make your Valentines cards easy to do!   Joy, here today.  My plan is to make a few special Valentine's Day cards and then some little favors for my grandkids to give to their class mates.  So I need to get started right away.  Here is my first special card.

The pink background paper is shiny, heavier than regular designer paper and comes from the paper pad, The Lake House.  The two rectangle filigree layers are cut using Spellbinders' Decorative Labels Eight.  The Filigree Circle from Hugs & Kisses Sentiments was stamped on some of the paper and cut out, then I punched out the Love die cut from the Lake House Paper and popped it up with pop up glue dots.  The Lake House Paper Pad has 4 pages of special die cuts that can be punched out. - this makes it easy to make a card look special.

Dies:       Decorative Labels Eight by Spellbinders
Stamp:    Hugs & Kisses Sentiments by JustRite
Paper:     The Lake House by Kaiser Craft

Thank you for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.

In the next few weeks I'll be posting what I make for my grandkids

Today Gerri one of the Repeat Impressions Rock Star Designers challenged us to make a project using something new to you.  I have not bought any paper in a long time -- because I have enough to paper the world!!! But I did splurge and bought a 6x6 pad called Vintage Timeless by KaiserCraft and that is my something new and here are two cards:
The first one uses the sentiment Be My Valentine and the second one uses the sentiment Get Well Soon from the Quartet Compliment series and the Small Butterfly from the Summer Series.

Now it's your turn to show us something new to you - make a card and link it on Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built.  You do not have to use Repeat Impression stamps but we would love to see how you would use them.  If you use Repeat Impression stamps, your name will go in twice for a random drawing for a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Here are the Rock Star Designers who have made projects to inspire you.
