Easter Blessings

Hi friends, Joy on deck today showing you an Easter Card I made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  This is for the challenge this week.  Have you ever challenged a friend to do a card with you and enter into the challenges -- you need to try it.  I often challenge my sister - we text and email each other about it.   It's fun and one of you could be the winner of a nice prize! --- Ok, let's get to the card.

This was made using a few of my favorite scraps - the ones I just hate to throw away.  I used paper scraps from Kaisercraft called Key to My Heart and Lake House.  The base for the greeting is Decorative Labels Eight from Spellbinders, the next layer is Vintage Labels Five from JustRite.  I colored those sweet little eggs from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Bird Song.  The Easter Blessings sentiment is from JustRite's Spring Words -- which is an awesome set of 20 different holiday sentiments - PERFECT for this time of the year.  I shaded all the edges of the pieces with a Tim Holtz Mini Ink Blending Tool and popped up all the elements with Joy Foam Pads.

Now make your card or project according to the guidelines for this challenge.  You will find them at ClassyCardsnSuch.blogspot.com.  You can link your card there or here on my blog!  Thanks and maybe you will be that winner of a great prize!

Stretch Your Stamps

Good morning!  Today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions asked me to do a Project of the Week and I call this Stretching Your Stamps.  There have been times I wanted to stamp on a banner, tag or die cut and the sentiment I had was too large. So..... I know this technique will take courage - but it's ok - you can do it.  I cut my stamps --- YIKES!!  I promise you, I heard no screaming from the stamps as I cut.

A couple of guidelines:
1.  Use small sharp scissors - save Tim Holtz scissors for other things
2.  The stamp cuts better if it does not have EZ Mount or other Mounting Backing
3.  Cut slowly, sometimes bending the stamp to see where best to cut
4.  Afterwards, I store them carefully together

Here is my first example.  I wanted to use the line in the first stamp, "It's Your birthday" and the second "Let's get together" on two separate banners.   On each example I put the stamp back together on my acrylic block and stamped them just to see if they looked ok.  Can you tell any difference?
Here is another example.  This was for a Valentine card, but my die cut only had room for a small sentiment and I chose "I Love You bunches".

Here is another one.  I wanted to use only the first line of this Live Laugh Love background stamp for a center piece on a card.
This is my last example.  I have a lot of  tiny die cut tags and love attaching them to cards.  Here I used the word "friend" on the sentiment stamp called Thank you for being a friend.
Now when I buy stamps I often look for words within the stamp that might be used.  I hope you give this a try.  Thanks for looking at my project! Have a happy stamping day!

Repeat Impression What If Wednesday

Today for What If Wednesday at Repeat Impressions, Wendy challenged us to this sketch.
And here is my card:

I used the image called Cat and Hummingbird from the Beautiful Days Series and the sentiment is called Happy Spring.  The image was stamped on vellum and then colored with Copics on the back side.

Ok, now it's your turn.  Show us what you would do with Wendy's sketch.  Here is a list of Rock Star Designers who have made something to inspire you.
Make a card and link it on Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built and you could be the winner of a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions!

You Are.....

here, today for the Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge we were to use pearls - which I love, love, love.  So here's my card
The coral stripe is from Lady Rose by Kaisercraft on which I stamped words from the Just The Right Words stamp set by JustRite.  The brown banners were heat embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Gold Detail Embossing Powder using the You are  and inside & out sentiment from Impression Obsession's You are Beautiful Stamp Set.  Snowflake Pearls from Queen & Co. were added to the end of each banner.  The brown/beige dot paper is from Graphic 45 Botanical Tea.  I added a tiny sliver of gold to the edge of the coral stripe to coordinate with the gold embossed words. (it looks brown on my computer, but it is gold)

Now - it's your turn to have a go at this challenge.  Just go to Beverly blog, Classy Cards 'n Such blogspot.com and she has all the details listed there.  After you make your card, you can link it on her blog or here on mine.  You could be the winner of a nice prize.  -- To make it more fun why don't you challenge one of your stamping friends?  I'm challenging my sister to make a project.

Thanks for looking at my card - I can't wait to see what you do!

Happy Birthday Wendy!

Good Morning!

When Wendy Wyman was just 4 years old, she announced that she was going to be an artist when she grew up.  Many years, and many sketchbooks later, she had earned a BFA in Graphic Design.

For the next 11 years found Wendy worked in advertising, freelancing, and ran a printing company.

And then it happened...Wendy's mom became a stamping addict, and the rest was history!  It was Wendy's mom's encouragement that led her to turn her illustrations into fine art rubber stamps.

Wendy's husband, Bill, was also looking for a career change, and jumped at the idea of learning a new skill.

And so....in 1996, Wendy Wyman, and her husband Bill Welsh established Repeat Impressions Stamps.  Each stamp is designed by Wendy, and manufactured by Bill in their home workshop!

Today, the design team for Repeat Impressions, the Rock Stars, have joined together
with a special hop for Wendy's Birthday!

Wendy loves ATC's, so we've changed things up - instead of cards, we all created ATC's for Wendy. They were mailed to Cheri, one of our Rock Stars, who has created a wonderful album for them, and sent them on to Wendy.

Wendy, you are one of the sweetest, and most generous people we know.
As a 'boss', rarely do we find ourselves on a team that is more professionally run,
or more organized!  You are so understanding of our personal issues, and it's a joy to work with you and your products!

We want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!
We look up to, admire and respect you.
May your day today be filled with love and laughter!

And remember....the more candles you have, the bigger the wish you are allowed!

Here is my ATC's for Wendy:
I've used the Small Butterfly and sentiment from the Summer Series.
Please hop along to see what uber-fabulous projects my fellow Rock Stars have created
for Wendy!
Thanks for hopping with us!  If you have a minute, please go to the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built, and leave Wendy a bit of Birthday love!!!

Birds and Flowers

Hi! Joy here.  Showing you a card made with the new Heartfelt Creations paper that I found in the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store.  These are gorgeous papers!

I started with some great Clear Cardstock by Heartfelt.  This has such wonderful weight and body.  It is not like transparencies.  Clear Cardstock is thicker, makes awesome folds and takes ink very well.  I stamped 3 of the birds, the branch and flowers from the Birds and Blooms stamp set by Heartfelt Creations, fussy cut them, and inked them up with a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

Then an oval was cut from a panel from the Birds and Blooms 12x12 paper pad to use for the front of the card.   I used some Small Joy Foam Pads to pop up the little birds and added some Sparkle and Sprinkle Fascination Ultra Fine glitter to the center of the flowers.  The sentiment on the front is from JustRite called Just the Right Words.

And oval for the inside was cut and stamped with a sentiment.  The back panel where you can sign your name is from Our Daily Bread and called Path of Life.  I really like this script.

Thank you for looking at my card.  Have a Happy Stamping Day.

May Every Sunrise

Joy, here today.  The challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such this week is to make a project using green.  That's not a color I use much, but as I was gathering my supplies together that I have from the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store, I found myself enjoying this color so much that I made 3 cards.  I will post one today for this challenge and the other two in future posts.  This one used the stamp set from Hope and Love Vintage Labels by Just Rite.  The feathers from Bird Song by Sparkle 'n Sprinkle are embossed with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle White Detail Embossing Powder and cut out.  The sentiment was also embossed with the White Detail Embossing Powder.  The banner was cut out using Blueprints 13 by My Favorite Things.  The paper is from Botanical Tea by Graphic 45.

Ok, how would you use the color green?  Make a project - with the guidelines from Beverly's post at the Classy Cards 'n Such blog and link it on her blog or here on mine.  We look forward to seeing your project.

The Lord Gives Strength

Joy here today.  I'd like to show you something I made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.
The paper for this card is from the Kaiser Kraft 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad called Magnolia Grove and from the 12 x 12 pad called Key to My Heart by Kaiser Kraft.  To emphasize the frame and sentiment, I heat embossed them with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Black Fine Detail Embossing Powder.  The stamp set is Cast All Your Cares by JustRite.  The card background was dry embossed with Cherry Blossoms folder by Darice.  It perfectly matches the flower in the stamp set.  The flower was quickly colored with a few copics.

I like this sentiment because it has proven true in my life many times.  Thank you for looking at my card.  Have a happy stamping day.

Birthday Blessings

Good morning, Joy here today.  It's a new year and needing to replenish my stash of birthday cards.  My first step is to check my supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  I started with the JustRite set called Vintage Filigree Fancies.  I love this set because the script is so elegant and makes a card a little extra special.

The flowers are from Thankful Blooms by Sweet 'n Sassy which were stamped and cut out with the companion Thankful Blooms Dies.  The leaves and flowers were coated 3-4 times with Clear Detail Embossing Powder by Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  They were arranged on paper by Kaisercraft called Key to My Heart and a piece of paper from an old book.  The flower and leaves were popped up with Joy Foam Pads.

Thank you for looking at m card.  Have a Happy stamping day.

With my song...

Hi, Joy here sharing a card I made with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  With touches of gold being the on-trend item now, I went to the on line store and found some great gold goodies for their current challenge.   Here I used a couple of them.
The challenge was to use a border punch/die.  To make this border I used a Spellbinders rectangle die called Decorative Labels Eight and cut off one side to use.  Then I used Sparkle 'n Sprinkles Gold Detail Embossing Powder on the stamp set by Our Daily Bread called Music Speaks.  The gold banner was dry embossed using Gold Mirricard.  See the perforations on the side of the image?  I created this using the Stitch Line Die from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 13 Die Set.  This panel was popped up using large Joy Foam Pads.  The paper for this card is from a 6x6 Simple Stories pad called Vintage Bliss.

We sure would enjoy seeing what you would do with the Border Challenge.  Just go to the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog and link your card there.

Purrfect Pet

Good morning, Joy here showing you what I made using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  This was a fun card to make because I really believe cats are purrfect pets.
A card front was cut using a die from Blueprints 4 using paper from Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs.  A flower from the stamp set by Thankful Blooms was stamped onto a heart using two different colors of ink and attached to a Scallop Heart by Spellbinders.  A small  heart was embossed with my favorite Anna Griffin folder called Smitten.  On top of the white heart a die cut tag from Blueprints 13 was stamped with a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Pets from My Favorite Things and heat embossed using Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's White Detail Embossing Powder. Each heart was popped up using Joy Foam Pads.

Be sure to check out the Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs paper pad.  This company made a hit with this paper!

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a happy stamping day!

Happy Birthday Banners

Hi, it's Joy today showing you how I met the challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  WOW! great challenge pic!   I took inspiration from the banners and the bright colors.  So I  used my new Our Daily Bread Pennant Die and Our Daily Bread Pennant Stamp Set 2.

The background was made using the Star, Star Dust Embossing Stencil by Memory Box.  I took 3 little mounds of Pearlescent Embossing Paste by Dreamweaver and colored them with 3 different colors of  Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  These was spread on the stencil.  After it was dry, I matted it on some paper from Graphic 45 called Secret Garden. Then the greeting was popped up with Small Joy Foam Pads.

We would love for you to join in the challenge with us.  Why not challenge one of your card friends?  You could win a nice prize from Classy Cards 'n Such

You can add your card with in inlinz below.

Repeat Impressions Color Challenge

Wendy Wyman, owner of Repeat Impressions challenged us to this color combination.  Fabulous colors!
Here is my card.  I used two sentiments Bottoms Up from the Bottoms Up Series and It's Your Birthday - the first part of a sentiment stamp from the series called Wine Time.  The coffee cup image is one of the coffee cups from Thanks a latte' which is from the Pairings Series.  The last thing I did was to add a Starbuck Gift card to the little holder behind the cup.

Because I think everyone is ready for spring, this is a "super duper" great challenge with beautiful spring colors!  Check out what the other Rock Stars did and then go to  Wendy's blog - The House That Stamps Built to check out all the details and link up your project.  Can't wait to see what you do.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a happy stamping day!
