Happy Valentine's Day

Goodness - can you believe Christmas has come and gone and now it's time for Valentine cards?  I have a goal to send out a Valentine card to each of the teachers I supervise - so I better get crackin'!   Guess what?  I used left over Christmas paper and supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such on line store!

The sentiment is from a fabulous set called Hugs & Kisses by JustRite - one of the best stamp sets around.  Not only is it packed with 19 great sentiments, it has 6 flourishes and a beautiful circle frame.  I'm just crazy about this set.  The sentiment was heat embossed using Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's White Detail Embossing Powder.  You can zoom onto the sentiment and see how fine and clean that powder is.  The sentiment panel was popped up using Large Joy Foam Pads.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day!

Easy Ombre Ink Background

Good Morning!  Today on The House That Stamps Built blog it is my turn to do a Project of the Week and  would like to tell you about an easy way to do ombre backgrounds.  Supplies are few:

white card stock,
brayer
ink - any kind -I experimented with 4 different kinds

Step 1 is to ink up your brayer
Step 2 roll onto the card stock several time - until ink is gone.
Step 3 re-ink brayer and repeat step 2 until you have the depth of color you want
always start at the same place so the ink gets darker and then lighter as you roll down the card stock
Here is a finished card
For this card I used one of Wendy's new Large Sentiment sets called Happy Cling Set.  This set has nineteen different sentiments for all occasions.  The snowflake is called Snowflake Outline.  Both were heat embossed with White Detail Embossing powder on top of the inked card stock.

Hope you give this easy technique a try - it is fun!   Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a happy Stamping Day!

Merry Christmas

Hello today it's Joy with a card made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  This afternoon I was invited to a last minute party and needed a Christmas card - quick, quick quick!  I was almost in a panic - but then I remembered that I had some left over components from Blueprints 4.  I keep all my left over components in a zip lock bag which makes it easy to make a quick card.

I stamped the Merry Christmas from Christmas Joy by Sweet n Sassy and heat embossed with Sparkle n Sprinkle White Detail Embossing Powder then rounded the corners of the red card stock with the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. The pretty paper is from Believe by Authentique.   I have to say because the components were already cut out, this was one of the fastest cards I've ever made -- and I even made it to the party on time.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a happy stamping day.

Christmas Wand

Good Morning, Joy here today with a card for the Classy Cards 'n Such Weekly Challenge.  Today were were to use this photo as inspiration.
and here is my card:
The trees are a die-cut frame called Cascade Evergreen Frame by Memory Box.  The sentiment is from Christmas Joy by Sweet n Sassy Stamps stamped on some Heavy Weight Vellum.  I used a stencil called Texture Tessatina by Memory Box with some Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing Paste.  Before it dried I sprinkled on Sparkle & Sprinkle Crystal Ice Glitter.  Two green trees were die cut from the Evergreen Frame and layered on top of the white card stock making sure some of the white card stock was showing. Some of the embossing Paste was added using a small brush being sure to make some peaks.  Lastly I sprinkled some glitter on the trees before the paste dried.

Today would be a great day to join in the Star Challenge.  Just go to Classy Cards 'n Such Blogspot.com and look at the details for the challenge.  Be sure to check out what the other design team members did.  They did an awesome job this week.  Make your project Then it there or here.  You could be the winner of a nice prize!

Merry Christmas Stars

Hi, Joy here for the Classy Cards 'n Such weekly challenge.  Today we were to have stars in our project.  So I combine one of my favorite stamps sets with stars.
The cardinal is from Christmas Joy  from Sweet 'n Sassy and the sentiment is from Christmas Sentiments by Impression Obsession.  The cardinal was quickly fussy cut after I added a dot of Viva Decor Pearl Pen to add dimension to his eye.  A Small Joy Foam Pad was added behind the chest area of the cardinal to give a popped up look.  This was a quick, quick card - and easy.

Today would be a great day to join in the Star Challenge.  Just go to Classy Cards 'n Such Blogspot.com and look at the details for the challenge.  Be sure to check out what the other design team members did.  Then link your project there or here.  You could be the winner of a nice prize!

Memories

Good morning!  It's Joy today showing you another card I made with using supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  A few weeks ago I used some of the Ken Oliver's Color Bursts to make some background paper and this card incorporates some of that paper.  I used Indigo Blue and Pthalo Green with some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.  This makes the Color Bursts sparkle.

On a piece of white card stock the Snowflake called Silverdale Snowflake Duet was cut out and the sentiment is from Twinkles by Impression Obsession was stamped near the bottom.  Then this was layered on top of the background paper.  When the large snowflake was cut I made sure to keep all the small inside pieces and place them in the cutouts.

Thanks for looking at my card - if it is snowing in your part of the country - keep warm!  Have a happy stamping day.

Snow Angels

Today at Classy Cards 'n Such our challenge is to make a project with angels - and snow angels count!  Do you remember making snow angels as a child?  They are so much fun!

The background is watercolored with the Ken Oliver Pthalo Green and Indigo Colors Bursts.  Instead of water I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.  The sparkle is so pretty.  The little die cut snowflake is from Silverdale Snowflake Duet.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy's Christmas Joy.  Each layer was cut using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A.

Today would be a great day to join in the Angel Challenge.  Just go to Classy Cards 'n Such Blogspot.com and look at the details for the challenge.  Be sure to check out what the other design team members did.  Then link your project there or here.  You could be the winner of a nice prize!

Wishing You

Hello friends!  I'm trying to finish up my Christmas cards and wanted to use some of the Ken Oliver Color Bursts that are in the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store.  First I have a warning for you -- these color Bursts are addictive.  I kind of went crazy and will be posting more cards that uses these.  For this one I used the colors of Indigo, Pthleo Green and a little Lemon Yellow.

I took a portion of the water color paper I used and die cut a rectangle, and heat embossed the sentiment from Impression Obsessions Christmas Sentiments with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's White Detail Embossing powder.  The rectangle was then layer onto a piece of glossy card stock that was dry embossed with an Anna Griffins folder.  The little tree stamp is from Impression Obsession's Riding Pretty and cut out with the matching Bicycle Die Set and popped up using Small Joy Foam Pads.

Hope you are getting to finish up your cards - the Classy Cards 'n Such on line store will help!  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a Happy Stamping Day!
