Designers Choice Challenge from Robin

Today Robin was the featured Designer who challenged us to do a card with animals!  Since my husband is a veterinarian -- this was easy -- and sorta hard.  Repeat Impressions has so many animal stamps it was hard to decide which to use.  I used a cat stamp called "Fourty Winks".  I like this stamp because I like coloring like my cat --- who is usually napping.  I also used the sentiment "Take Time to Chill Out".  This series has some wonderful stamps and sentiments.  Take a minute to check them out.

Here is m card:
Here is the list of Designers who made projects to inspire you.

Now we’d love for you to play along with us!
Here are all the details…
1. Create any card that includes an animal. Remember, your card does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include their designs we would reeeally love to see them! :D Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using their stamps in your submissions!
2. Post your DCC card on your blog or online gallery. Then link it with the inlinkz widget at Repeat Impressions blog. (Please provide a direct link to your post, not the entire blog.)

Creative Belli Challenge - Paper Piecing

This week the Creative Belli Challenge is to use paper piecing.  So here is my card:
The cut out leaves and the sentiment are from A Year of Leaves by Melanie Muenchinger.  I've used scraps from my big pile.  It is difficult to see, but the leaves are stamped on glitter paper and cut out.

Here is a list of the Designers who made projects to inspire you.
Would you like to join with us in this challenge?  It is eazy-peazy! Remember our goal is to inspire you to use products you already have on hand.  Make a project using paper piecing, remembering that the spirit of the Belli Challenges is to get you to use the old, forgotten or little used embellishments or components.

Designers Choice Challenge Harriett

What a wonderful day this is!  I'm in Maine for  few weeks but have schedule my posts -- here's hoping they all go live at the right time.   This week Harriett on the the Design Team members challenged us to make a "one layer card CAS card".  Remember CAS can stand for "Clean and Simple."  I started with a pack of note cards I found at Paper Source in their mark down shelves.   I needed some quick thank you cards and this was going to work just fine.

Here is the little pack I found:
And here is what I made:
I stamped the image with Vase of Tulips and the sentiment is Thanks So Much from the Quartet Compliments series, colored the tulips and greenery with Copic markers.  I had 10 thank you notes -- super super quick.

This string art is called Spirelli - it is just one of MANY patterns in the string art.  Here is a tutorial on it.  It is so easy and this will probably be the Christmas cards that I will mail out.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a Nestabilities die with the greeting from Repeat Impressions.

STOW Humpback Whale

One of the exciting things we do when we go to Maine is to go on a Whale Watching ship. Usually we go out of Boothbay Harbor or Bar Harbor.  If you ever get the opportunity - go!  It usually takes 4-5 hours because the boat has to go pretty far out.  We have always seen whales when we go!  Amazing creatures God created.

This week the Stamp of the Week is the Humpback Whale, so I was excited to work with this one.  Here is my card:
So you remember that you can get this stamp for 50% off for this week only.  Just go to Wendy's blog and get the special code she has listed there.  Then go to Repeat Impressions and add that code in the Coupon Code section of the online order form.   Some of the members of the Design Team have made cards with this wonderful image -- Here they are

Stamp TV Inspiration Blog Hop

Carolina, arranged for the Center Stage Spotlight alumni to have an Inspiration Blog Hop.  If you have come from my sweet friend, Giovana Smith's blog - you are right on track.  If you want to start at the beginning it starts here at the Stamp TV site.  Here is what Caroline gave us as inspiration:
There is so much here for inspiration, texture ruffles, color, patterns and shapes!  Don't you just love the headboard?  Here is my card:

I took my inspiration from the colors. The ribbon is Pumpkin Mango Stripe from GKD.   I used Gina K Designs Pumpkin Spice, Sweet Corn, Kraft cardstock and a light blue scrap.  The Stamp set is Spring Mix and the sentiment is from GKD Tag Lines -- a sentiment set I LOVE because they all fit on little banners.

Here is another card I put together.  The card stock colors are Sweet Corn, Baby Blue and Pumpkin Spice.  The Stamp set is Autumn Splendor.  I embossed the Pumpkins spice with a Cuttlebug folder.

Now you can hop on over to  Karen Knegten's blog.  She will just blow your socks off with her card!!

Repeat Impressions - Dawn's Designers Choice Challenge

The Design Team at Repeat Impressions certainly has a lot of tricks (techniques) up their sleeves! They can come up with some great challenges!  Dawn this week challenged us to make a shaker card! Oh man, are these fun!  I went on You Tube and saw MANY techniques and my card this week is a combination of two of them.  I must say it was a hard decision on what to put in the shaker.  I finally decided on flower soft.  Here is my card ---- OK, OK, I know that Lily of the Valleys are white -- but I like the color pink - so I colored the usually white flowers a soft shade of pink.  Besides, pink matched my flower soft (LOL!)
Here it is:
The image is Lily of the Valley - from the Flower Series and the sentiment is "Find beauty in the little things" which is from the Quartet Series - totally packed with wonderful sentiments.(check it out)  The paper is from Stampin Up and Laura Ashley.  I made the little banner fold, so I can add another sentiment inside of it, put the recipient's in it or sign my name.

Here is the list of Designers who made projects to inspire you.

Now we’d love for you to play along with us!
Here are all the details…
1. Create any card that includes a shaker. Remember, your card does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include their designs we would reeeally love to see them! :D Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using their stamps in your submissions!

Thanks for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day!

Creative Belli Challenge - NOT paper

The girls at Creative Belli Challenge challenged the Design Team with making a project that used something not paper!  Here are a few of their suggestions:  silk, burlap, metal, netting, acetate, cloth, etc -- let your imagination run wild -- we like wild!  Here is my card:
I used burlap and acetate. The image is the butterfly from Repeat Impressions new Summer Series and the sentiment Happy Birthday is from their Quartet Series. (love the script).  I stamped the butterfly with stazon on acetate, put glitter on the backside with Glossy Accents.  Using Glossy Accents keeps the glitter on the acetate and not on the card, floor, my hair, my table and everywhere it is not suppose to be.  The paper is BoBunny.

Here is a list of the Designers who made projects to inspire you.
Would you like to join with us in this challenge?  It is eazy-peazy!

Snowflower card

Suzanne Dean of Color Me Creative Classroom has stared a new group called Book Endz.  We will read a book every month and at the first of each month there will be a new book announcement.  There will be discussions and chatter at the Book Endz group page.

There will be a Book party at the first of each month and share projects that have been made in the theme of whatever boook is being read and Suzanne will have a giveaway and some fun prizes.  You can attend the party and join the group EVEN if you don't finish/read the book or make a project.  Everyone is invited to join in the fun.

This month Suzanne chose Snowflower and the Secret Fan.  This is a Great good book to begin our reading journey.  I was able to read thru the book fairly quickly because it is soooo good and I also put the Kindle application on my iphone and found myself reading the book while waiting in line at the bank, while I got my nails done and even while I was at the dentist.

Here is my card for this month:
The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions.  The blue paper is from Papertrey Ink and the oriental paper is some I've had for a very long time - there was no maker's mark.  It is like a rice paper or hand made paper.  I also used a tag die from Spellbinders.  The fans were 1/2 of the Tim Holtz flower die.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!
