Little Paper Shop - Caution Construction Zone Birthday

I received the stamp set Caution Construction Zone from Little Paper Shop yesterday and could not wait to ink it up.  This is one of the BEST masculine stamp sets I have EVER seen!  I LOVE it.  It is simple to color.  I used clear embossing powder with black ink because it gets that shiny appearance.  Love it.

I used Crystal Effects on the windows and they look glassy!  These cards are for my son in law and grandson that have birthdays next week.  This weekend I want to try my hand at making some wrapping paper.  I'll be using this set a lot because I have 3 son in laws and 3 male grandchildren.  One of my son in laws is in the construction business.

Here are the cards  The first one measures  4x4, the second is the traditional 5.5x4.25.
Thank you for looking at my cards.  Have a happy stamping day.

STAMP TV Alumni BLOG HOP

Some of the Alumni Design Team members are having a blog hop!  Carolina arranged the hop and has challenged us to use the colors of Kraft or Tan Leather, Green (Creme de Menthe, Grass Green, Fresh Asparagus or Green Apple) and White.

You came here from Joan's blog -- wasn't her card incredible?  She is one TALENTED lady - and fun to make cards with.  The hop started at Stamp TV --  I know you want to go there first so you won't miss anyone's card.  Then you will be directed to go alphabetically hoping from one person to the other.  This will be an EASY hop with lots and lots of inspiration.

So here is my card:
Details:
Stamp:  Spring Mix and the sentiment is from Enjoy the Sunshine
Paper:  Gina K Designs White, Kraft and Creme de Menthe card stock
Other:  Brads and ribbon are from Gina K Designs

I used the flower image from Spring Mix to emboss on the Creme de Menthe with clear embossing powder, then cuttlebugged the frames and used pop dots for the little ground hog.

Now go check out sweet Karen Knegten's blog.  You will LOVE what she has done.  Then Karen will direct you where to go next!  HAVE FUN!!!!

CREATIVE BELLI CHALLENGE - ALTERED ITEM

This will probably be my longest post ever!  The Creative Belli Challenge this week was to make an altered item.  Now remember one of the challenges is to use an item you already have -- well, I tried to use up a lots of old things!! LOL!! I did not make much headway, but I did get to use a bunch of things.  Here is the finished project:  A MINI ALBUM
This started out as this:
It started out as this .59 cent book from the Good will store.  I took off the cover and back with my craft knife, sanded the edges and painted it with a little (leftover) off-white acrylic paint.
I painted the edges so that some of the book colors would not show around the edges of the pages of the album.
I used an old child's small board book because they stand so well on a desk that you can see almost all the pages very clearly.  (see how it stands up) I've made a couple of these for gifts and when this project came up - I decided this one was for me.

FRONT & BACK  - I covered the spine of the book with some crochet lace
The pages:

Remember there are a couple of goals when playing in the challenge:
1. Anyone Can Play! Challenge your best friend!
2. Make a completed project/card making something that is "ALTERED"!  Challenge yourself to use something you already have.
3. Share the link at the Creative Belli Challenge Blog  linking your creation to Mr. Linky. If you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your blog, be sure and put CBC95 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!
4.  Have fun - we look forward to seeing what you create!

I am so excited to make an announcement!!! Little Paper Shop has asked me to be a Guest Designer!  I have been BURSTING to tell someone!!!

Their stamps are manufactured in the US using only high quality photopolymer. Each set is hand inspected to ensure you are receiving only top quality products.

Each month Julia will release new stamps and Design Team will create wonderful projects to inspire and motivate you. They have challenges that offer AWESOME prizes.  Check out the blog and join us for a outstanding opportunity to meet new friends and win some fabulous prizes!

REPEAT IMPRESSIONS STAMP OF THE WEEK

When Wendy sent us this image, I immediately thought of my dad.  He had a place on Toledo Bend Lake in Louisiana.  We would catch turtles on the bank of the water and have turtle races.  We would take the turtles about 10-15 yards from water's edge and let them race to the water.  We kids had a ball!

So enough of that.  Here is a masculine birthday card I made -- thinking about those time we had at my dad's.

If you remember Wendy will give you a 50% discount on this stamp for the week it is featured.  All you need to do is go to The House That Stamps Built blog and get the code for this stamp.   This exclusive offer will not be shown on Repeat Impression's website - only on the blog:  The House that Stamps Built.   To receive your special discount please be sure to reference the code displayed on Repeat Impressions blog in the Special Instructions section of the online order form. PLEASE NOTE: The discount WILL NOT appear when you place your order. Once your order is ready to be shipped Wendy will apply the discount and process your credit card at that time. She will also send you a follow-up email to let you know your final adjusted total.

Now take a look at what some of the Design Team Members have done with this stamp:

Repeat Impressions - What Would You Do Wednesday

Wendy has a sketch she gives us on Wednesdays and she asks "What would you do if I gave you this?"  It is so much fun to play along.  Well, this week I needed a card to send to a dear sweet friend whose mom passed.  We enjoy card making together and I know she will appreciate it.

Here is Wendy's sketch
And here is my card:
Here are the details:

Repeat Impressions Stamps:  LupineSentiment(verse), and the "friend" word was created by masking off the rest of the words in the sentiment "Thank you for being a friend" and lightly stamping the top of the Lupine on blue cardstock, then placed on a clear plastic tag.  I sponged some blue on the large white oval card stock and lightly stamped lupines on the large oval, then stamped the sentiment and clear embossed it.

Stamp TV THANK YOU Blog Hop

This is a special Thank You hop for the Retired Challenge Hostess team.  Each person who wanted to,  choose a challenge that either Tina, Karen, Vicki, or Sharri shared during the time as hostesses and made a card for them.  This was to thank them for all their hard work getting the challenges together.

Here is the card and project I made for Karen and her "Anything But a Card" challenges.  The first is a Post It Note holder.

Here is the second one.  The challenge Karen issued was to make a tag that would be put on a gift  - maybe something that could not be mailed because the embellishment.

Here is my tag for Karen:

REPEAT IMPRESSION STAMP OF THE WEEK

It is getting close to 4th of July.  We have a BIG family get together with friends.  Since we live in the country, we get to have a lot of fireworks.  The men have made cannons to shoot the fireworks out of.  They line them up and light several at a time.  It takes 2-3 men to keep the fireworks going. There is a lot of squealing and ahhhhh-ing!

This week Wendy at Repeat Impressions asked us to do a project with the stamp LAND OF THE FREE.   Each week Wendy will select one stamp to showcase; the Design Team will share some ideas of what you can create with it and offer the featured stamp to their blog readers at 50% OffClick Here to get the 50% off.  This exclusive offer will not be shown on Repeat Impression's website - only on the blogThe House that Stamps BuiltIn order to get the 50% off code you will need to go to the blog.

I used "Land of the Free" and "It's Time To Party" stamps for our invitation to the 4th of July party.

Here is a card I made using the same stamp:

The little stars were punched out, I curled small gauge wire around a pen, slipped it off then taped the stars to the end of the wire and taped the wire to the back of the image.

Now take a look at these designers and what they have created, then order the stamp at a 50% discount from June 21 to 26th only.
