Glitter, Glitter, Glitter from Repeat Impressions

Today one of the Repeat Impressions Rock Star Designer's challenged us to ad some sparkle or glitter to a project.  Here is mine
I used the Large Butterfly, colored it with some Copic markers and then added glitter over the whole body.  I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment and the Text Background for the bottom of the card and I lightly stamped the Small Butterfly on some designer paper.

Check out what the other Rock Star Designers made to inspire you, make a project with glitter and show it off - we would love to see what you would do.  Yours could be the name that is drawn for a great gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out all the details at Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps built.

A Smile, Two Buttons and a Bow from Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, today it's Joy showing you a card for the Buttons and Bow challenge from Classy Cards 'n Such.  Have you ever just wanted to cheer someone up.  There are some days we just need to smile because we don't always know what people are going thru.  So today I'm sending you a smile - this card was meant just for you.  The products are from Classy Cards 'n Such great selections.

I stamped the smile sentiment from Botanical Medallions & Banners by Just Rite and die cut it with a Nested Oval Medallion Label Die from Spellbinders.  The sweet doilies are a die called Mariella Buckle from Memory Box.  The paper is from The Lake House by KaiserCraft.  On the edges of each element, I used the Mini Blending tool with a little Distress Ink by Tim Holtz and popped up the sentiment element with some Large Joy Foam Pads.  The ribbon is some Eggshell Seam Binding that I have dyed.

Why don't you join us in this challenge?  Challenge a friend - and you two get ideas from each other?  It's so much fun to do a challenge with a friend.  Go to Classy Cards 'n Such blog and get all the details and some inspiration from the other Design Team members. -- I'll watch for your projects.

By the Sea, By the Sea with Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, Joy today.  I'm vacationing near the ocean and was totally inspired to get my sea or ocean supplies out - fortunately Classy Cards 'n Such has some really pretty stamps to help me create this card.

I tore strips of paper from two 6x6 paper pads from Graphic 45 - one is called Secret Garden and the other is Botanical Tea in shades of brown, teal and blue.  I stamped the focal image from Sea Shell Bay by Just Rite and a little Relax in the Sun sentiment.  I used a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-two for the main focal image and a round die from Spellbinders for the sentiment.  I layered the torn strips of paper, popped up the Sea Horse image and the round sentiment with the Large Joy Foam Pads and added a little bit of twine.

Now off - to listen to the ocean and read a good book.

Thanks for looking at my card, be sure to check out all these supplies at Classy Cards 'n Such - have a happy stamping day!

Summer Fun with Repeat Impressions

Today at Repeat Impressions, Brenda challenged us to show off our summer fun!  So many stamps to choose from - this was hard for me!!  I finally chose to use some of the stamps from the Sea Shell series.  One of my grandsons was determined to find a sand dollar this year when we were at Sand Beach in Acadia - and guess what -- he found several.  They were small, but he was so happy.  This card is to commemorate his find.

The stamps I used were Small StarfishSand Dollar, and Grass Border.  The sentiment is from the Legacy Text series called Simple Pleasures.  Check this series out.  There are some really good sentiments that can be combined with stamps and other sentiments you may already have.

Join in the challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions has a random name drawing and that name wins a great gift certificate.  Here is the list of Repeat Impressions Design Team members who have made something to inspire you.  Thanks - we look forward to seeing what you create.

Pick a Posey Challenge from Classy Cards 'n Such

Hello, Joy here today.  Great challenge for this week - we are to make a flower or flowers.  Classy Cards 'n Such has so many flower dies!  Check out the selection under Flowers, Leaves & Trees.  I saw a demonstration that showed how to make a flower without a specific flower die.  So I am giving it a try.  All you need is a circle die - any kind,  Classy Cards 'n Such has a great selection and I used a die by Spellbinders called Picot Edge Circle.  I cut the 3 largest ones in the set and cut into the circles and rolled each one up after inking the edges with a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

I cut the leaves from Build A Flower #1 Petals, stamped the sentiment from Mighty Tower by Inky Antics and cut it out using a Labels Eighteen frame by Spellbinders.  Leaving the die in place I inked the edges with the Mini Blending Tool using a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad and arranged the elements with the small Joy Foam Pads on a piece of designer paper from the Simple Stories 6x6 pad called Vintage Bliss.

We now invite you to join in this challenge.  Beverly, owner of Classy Cards 'n Such has great prizes with 7 or more players.  We would love to see what you do with the flower challenge!  Make a flower, and post it on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day!

Repeat Impressions Project of the Week

Hello, Joy here today.  Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions gave me the opportunity to do a Project of the Week.  I was reading about hot trends in card making and there was one trend I really liked.  It was watercoloring, so I am showing a watercolor technique using Repeat Impressions images.

Here is the list of supplies you might need:
water color paper
Tim Holtz Distress inks
spritz bottle of water
acrylic block

Ink up the acrylic pad and squirt it 5-6 times with the water mister and it should look like this:
Press the inked block onto the water color paper and lift up the block.  It will run and puddle, but that is what you want and it should look similar to this:

Let it dry and then layer several other colors, allowing it to dry between layers.  I got carried away and made a few.

Here are two cards.  I used versamark and black embossing powder for the images so they would stand out.

The Repeat Impressions stamps are Humpback Whale, Flowers, Love Much and Thanks (with a little masking) sentiments.
I hope this encourages you to try this technique. Thank you for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day.

Classy Cards 'n Such Red White and Blue Challenge

Hello friends, it's Joy today posting a card using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  The challenge for this week was to use this inspirational photo.
I know 4th of July is here, but I had a deadline on a birthday coming up so I made a birthday card instead of a holiday themed card.

Easy, easy to make:
Stamp  the bike from Riding Pretty by Impression Obsession on card stock
Die cut the following:   one Allison's Ribbon by Cheery Lynn Designs, Happy Birthday sentiment from Happy Birthday Background by Poppy Stamps, and the stamped bike using the Bicycle Die set by Impression Obsession.  Layer the ribbon trim on a piece of designer paper, glue  the happy birthday sentiment on the card front, color the bike with a few Tim Holtz markers and then pop it up on the card with the small Joy Foam Pads.

Be sure to check out Classy Cards 'n Such for all these and many more supplies.  Thank you for looking at my card, have a happy stamping day!

I'll leave you with a picture of me putting together the bike that I will put with the Happy Birthday card. I must say the card was a lot easier than the bike!

Repeat Impression's Fur or Winged Things Challenge

Hi friends!   This is an interesting challenge Deonna, one of the Repeat Impression's Rock Star Designers has given us -- I love it!!  Although the hard part was trying to decide on an image.  Repeat Impression has sooooo many to choose from - it makes that part difficult.  There are lots of kitty images (which I always color to match my kitty) and lots of bird, butterfly and dragonfly images.  This is the one I went selected.
The background was watercolored with a stamp block and then I stamped the image called Wings Negative.  The sentiment is Happy Birthday.  I added 3 little brads that matched the card base.  The following is a list of the Design Team Members that have made projects to inspire you.  Check them out, then make your card and link it on Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built and your might be the random name chosen to received a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.
