Project of the Week - Rainbows

Good morning, Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions asked me to do the Project of the Week and I had just taken a class on rainbows and wanted to use this technique.

Supplies:
round concentric dies
various rainbow colored paper
washing tape, or post it tape

Step 1
use washi tape to keep the concentric dies together as you cut various colors of paper
Step 2
alternate the circles of paper from your die cuts

As you arrange the circles tape them together on the back - this will keep them together as you prepare your card
Step 3
Cut the circles in half for two rainbows
Step 4
Put your card together.  The first one used the sentiment For the Beauty of the Earth..... and the second card uses the sentiment Beautiful Days.

Hope you give this a try.  It is habit forming!  Thanks for looking at my card.

Stamp-A-Faire 2017

Today is the day!

Paper --- check
tape runner  --- check
snacks ---     check
friends to stamp with --- off to pick them up at the airport now!

So excited for this year's Stamp-A-Faire by Papertrey Ink.  My friend Melissa is flying from Oakhurst, California to Bar Harbor, Maine to stamp with me -- that surely has to be a record -- 3,291 miles.  My sister from Texas (2040 miles) will be joining us on Sunday.

Here is place setting I've made for each stamper.  I found the little clip boards at Hobby Lobby -- just added the designer paper.  It can hold the schedule or card we have finished.
I'll be posting cards as I finish them.  See you around

Here are my projects

Repeat Impressions Challenge

Good Morning!  Summer is coming to a close..... - It was way too short.  At Repeat Impressions, Wendy, the owner has an "Anything Goes" challenge.  I really like these because it lets me use any technique I've tried lately or use any embellishment or even a favorite sketch.  So here is mu card.

I use the sentiment To everything there is a season... and heat embossed one in white on vellum and one in black on plain cardstock and layered with a scrap of designer paper and then placed it on a card front.

I think these challenges are always fun and look forward to seeing what you will do with them.  I've learned many new techniques and get a lot of inspiration from your creativity.  You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge from Repeat Impressions

Tic Tac Toe time -- Repeat Impressions wants to see what you can do for this week's challenge.

There is going to be a butterfly release at a garden spot near me this week and I just had to do the butterflies.  Here is my card.
I used a watercolor wash background in bright blue, stamp the Feel Better Soon sentiment on vellum and then made multiples of the Small Butterfly - some on vellum colored with copics and some on light cardstock colored with copics and then stacked several of them.

For me these challenges are always fun and look forward to seeing what you will do with the challenge.  You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

Repeat Impressions Weekly Challenge.

This week at Repeat Impressions Cheri, one of the Rock Stars has challenged us to make a card with a movie in mind.  - This will be a great challenge and we are excited to see what everyone does.  Here is my card.
I used the movie called  The Light Keepers staring Richard Drefuss and Blythe Danner.  It is a romantic comedy.  It is on Amazon Prime - so if you are a Prime member it's free to watch.

This involved a watercoloring technique called dabbing or touching.  I attended a class in California that taught this technique.

The sentiment is Happy Birthday and the image is called (large) Bass Harbor Light which is in Maine and it is beautiful!

For me these challenges are always fun and look forward to seeing what you will do with the challenge.  And hopefully I'll get a list of movies to watch.  You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

Papertrey Ink Monthly Blog Hop

It's been a while since I entered one of these challenges/blog hops for Papertrey Ink.  I was so inspired by this month's hop that I made a set of quick note cards and a few tags.  When I visit someone in the hospital I sometimes will buy an inexpensive bouquet of flowers from the grocery store and just had one of my cards or tags.  So these will be ready to go.  Be sure to check out the details on this month's hop on Nicole's blog.  This was the inspiration.
Here are the cards and tags.

I used the stamps from Graceful Greetings, and Grand Finale.  The dies are the Noted Scalloped A1 Die and Tag Sale No. 10.

Thanks for looking at my card.

I used the colors as my inspiration.  Here is my card.

REPEAT IMPRESSIONS Project of the Week

Hello friends!  Today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions asked me to post a Project of the Week.  I was just getting ready to do my monthly planner entries for the week and thought I'd show you how I organize and use Repeat Impressions stamps for mine.

After trying out SEVERAL planners, one with 2 page monthly entries seems to work best for me.  Here are the supplies

Repeat Impressions tiny stamps
tape runner
washi tape
pen
small ink spot
any small dies that would fit
small calendar stickers

I went thru all my Repeat Impressions stamps and picked out all the small ones that would fit in the days of the week boxes.  Then I stamped them on a guide and put them all in a plastic sleeve.  This I keep in a container marked "Daily Planner Stamps & Dies" with the tape runner, washi, small ink spot and any other small things I might use.

And this is how I store them
I keep all these supplies in this small plastic container so that once a week (usually on a Sunday afternoon) it is easy to pull this out and work out the week's schedule.  This only takes about 15-20 minutes.

Here is what the beginning calendar looks like.  As the month goes on - the schedule changes and gets more stickers, stamps and tape runner on it.

I think setting out a specific schedule to do this and keeping all the supplies in one container helps makes this go quickly.  If I have time I'll do a little coloring with pencils.  On the 28th do you see the rabbit in the hat?  -- that's my evening to cook dinner -- and believe me that's like pulling a rabbit out of the hat!!

Keeping a written schedule is quite easy if all the supplies are together and a small amount of time each week is set aside.  Using the stamps and coloring them helps me to remember what the week holds for me to do.

Thanks for looking at my project - hope you give it a try.
