Project of the Week

Hi - it's Joy with a Project of the Week.  I was so excited when I saw the new layered stamp set Wendy released called Flower Power Separates.  I discovered several ways to do layered stamping with the red rubber.  Here is one of them.

The only supplies you are going to need are a good pair of scissors to cut the red rubber and a permanent marker - I use the red Tim Holtz Tonic scissors.  They are sharp and can make precise small cuts.

I trimmed each flower separate very close - closer than normal

On each stamp, a petal or a distinct part of each piece was identified and marked on the back.  I marked the outline stamp and the fill in stamp in the same place with a permanent marker.
I did not use the cling foam on these.  They are going to remain unmounted because I will use a MISTI or  when I stamp, I will use a foam pad underneath my cardstock.

In the above picture you can see how I have marked each one.  This will make it easy to line up the outline layer with the solid layer.  These will be stuck on a clear acrylic stamping block with a small glue dot.

Here is a card I made using the identifying marks to help me line up the outline image with the solid image.
I'm hoping you will give this a try.  Let us know how it works out for you.

Repeat Impression Weekly Challenge

Hi -- today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions has a sketch for us to try.
For me this is going to be a totally neat way to give a gift card. It goes inside the envelope and is sealed with a sticky dot under the brad.  This was for a wedding present.  So here's my card using silver, black and grey.

The sentiment is called Celebrating you..... and a sneak peak at a new frame series Wendy is cooking up!  How about joining us in this challenge?

it can be a 3D project, a scrapbook page or card - let your imagination run wild!!  Just use the sketch as your guide.  We look forward to seeing what you will do with the challenge.    You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do, your name will be entered twice (2x) for a random drawing for a really nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Check out Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built for the complete guidelines and link your project there.

What's Leftover on Your Desk Challenge

Today Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions let me choose the challenge.  I found myself with a total mess on my desk, needing to make 100 ATCs!  This was for an event I went to in California - so here's my desk
and here is the first ATC
I used the stamp called Celebrate Spring.  I cut the stamp to fit a little tag, then made a clear pocket measuring 2.5 x 3.5 with a Fuse Tool, some left over 12 x 12 page protectors, sequins and little flowers. Below is a partial picture of the 100.
Now we would like for you to join the challenge - What's on your desk?  Show us what you make.
