Repeat Impressions - What Would You Do Wednesday

Wendy has a sketch she gives us on Wednesdays and she asks "What would you do if I gave you this?"  It is so much fun to play along.  Well, this week I needed a card to send to a dear sweet friend whose mom passed.  We enjoy card making together and I know she will appreciate it.

Here is Wendy's sketch
And here is my card:
Here are the details:

Repeat Impressions Stamps:  LupineSentiment(verse), and the "friend" word was created by masking off the rest of the words in the sentiment "Thank you for being a friend" and lightly stamping the top of the Lupine on blue cardstock, then placed on a clear plastic tag.  I sponged some blue on the large white oval card stock and lightly stamped lupines on the large oval, then stamped the sentiment and clear embossed it.

REPEAT IMPRESSION STAMP OF THE WEEK

It is getting close to 4th of July.  We have a BIG family get together with friends.  Since we live in the country, we get to have a lot of fireworks.  The men have made cannons to shoot the fireworks out of.  They line them up and light several at a time.  It takes 2-3 men to keep the fireworks going. There is a lot of squealing and ahhhhh-ing!

This week Wendy at Repeat Impressions asked us to do a project with the stamp LAND OF THE FREE.   Each week Wendy will select one stamp to showcase; the Design Team will share some ideas of what you can create with it and offer the featured stamp to their blog readers at 50% OffClick Here to get the 50% off.  This exclusive offer will not be shown on Repeat Impression's website - only on the blogThe House that Stamps BuiltIn order to get the 50% off code you will need to go to the blog.

I used "Land of the Free" and "It's Time To Party" stamps for our invitation to the 4th of July party.

Here is a card I made using the same stamp:

The little stars were punched out, I curled small gauge wire around a pen, slipped it off then taped the stars to the end of the wire and taped the wire to the back of the image.

Now take a look at these designers and what they have created, then order the stamp at a 50% discount from June 21 to 26th only.

Card Postioning System Challenge 170

Here is the sketch for this week- an easy one - what's hard in the decision on what kind of paper to use.
Here is my card:
The dp is Melissa Francis and the little stamp is Papertrey Ink, the cross is a Nestabilities die.
I used some shiny silver cardstock and blackened it with black ink -the actual card looks like tarnished sterling silver.  It was the most difficult picture to take.  This convinces me I need to get a small photo booth to take my pictures.

Now I'm off to get last minute things together for my first "Shoebox Swap".  It is tomorrow and is near Dallas.  There should be about 40 of us! I'm going with my sister - who is soooo much fun.

Have a Happy Stamping Day!!

Card Patterns Sketch 67

WOW - we have had a downpour of rain!  No flooding in our house, but many of the roads around here have been closed.  Our grandkids are playing in the rain on the patio and love it!  While they play, I've got a quick minute to post this card I did after they were in bed last nite.

Here is my card:
The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms - they have wonderful sentiments.
The coffee cup stamp is from Gina K. Designs by Rupa Shevde called "my cuppa joe".
The paper is Basic Grey capella paper - love it!

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a wonderful STAMPING DAY and for my friends in Central Texas -- stay dry (save the paper and cardstock first!! - your stamps will float)

Little Paper Shop Challenge

I'm posting this quickly.  I'm taking care of my two grandsons -- and it's been raining all day.  The clouds have parted - for a few short minutes I'm sure! So I turned them out to play on the patio with their bikes.  From the clouds - it will be a quick break for them (and me)! hee, hee

Here are the colors we were to use:

Here is my card:
The stamp is from Little Paper Shop and is called "Chirp".  I love their stamps! They are a clear photopolymer, that makes it so easy to line up the stamps and to make them straight. The paper is from American Crafts, Stampin Up and My Minds Eye

They have very talented illustrators with a wide variety of styles who have designed and developed a unique line of high quality photopolymer stamps. Their stamps are manufactured in the US using only high quality photopolymer. Each set is hand inspected to ensure you are receiving only top quality products.  Take a look at their web site.  There is a forum, gallery and great links - even for free images!

Better go -- I knew it wouldn't last long! Here comes the rain again and here come the boys!! Love it!!

Have a HAPPY Stamping Day.

The little birds are rub - ons by Imaginisce called Dream Come True, the sentiments are from Imaginations called Creative Cafe.  The paper is Melissa Francis, the ribbon is Martha Stewart binding(from the clearance bin) and a bit of vintage crochet.

Repeat Impressions Sketch for June 2

I get so excited about doing sketches.  I like being shown a pattern and then following it.  For me it is so much fun!

Here is the sketch we were to follow.
And here is my card:
I wanted to dedicate this card to one of our designers:  Robin Kirpatrick.  She and her husband just recently celebrated a 25 years anniversary!  WOWIE!  CONGRATULATIONS.  Way to Go!!

Here are the specs on the card.  I used the image Swan Love 4321-J.  It is embossed with silver embossing powder.  It really shines - couldn't get my camera to pick up the shine.  I cuttlebug cut the circle and scallop circle and then cuttlebug embossed the scallops.  The sentiment is actually"Congratulations - You did it."  I masked off the lower part "You did it" and embossed it also with silver embossing powder. then attached some organdy ribbon.

Here are the other designers that have some inspiration ready for you.  (Hey, when you get to Robin's wish her a Happy Anniversary.)
