Repeat Impressions - Dawn's Designers Choice Challenge

The Design Team at Repeat Impressions certainly has a lot of tricks (techniques) up their sleeves! They can come up with some great challenges!  Dawn this week challenged us to make a shaker card! Oh man, are these fun!  I went on You Tube and saw MANY techniques and my card this week is a combination of two of them.  I must say it was a hard decision on what to put in the shaker.  I finally decided on flower soft.  Here is my card ---- OK, OK, I know that Lily of the Valleys are white -- but I like the color pink - so I colored the usually white flowers a soft shade of pink.  Besides, pink matched my flower soft (LOL!)
Here it is:
The image is Lily of the Valley - from the Flower Series and the sentiment is "Find beauty in the little things" which is from the Quartet Series - totally packed with wonderful sentiments.(check it out)  The paper is from Stampin Up and Laura Ashley.  I made the little banner fold, so I can add another sentiment inside of it, put the recipient's in it or sign my name.

Here is the list of Designers who made projects to inspire you.

Now we’d love for you to play along with us!
Here are all the details…
1. Create any card that includes a shaker. Remember, your card does not have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include their designs we would reeeally love to see them! :D Plus, there’s an added bonus… you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using their stamps in your submissions!
2. Post your DCC card on your blog or online gallery and be sure to reference Repeat Impressions DCC83 Designer’s Choice Challenge. Then link it with the inlinkz widget at Repeat Impressions blog. (Please provide a direct link to your post, not the entire blog.)
For this challenge a random winner will receive any one unmounted sheet of stamps of their choice!

Thanks for looking at my card - have a happy stamping day!

Creative Belli Challenge - NOT paper

The girls at Creative Belli Challenge challenged the Design Team with making a project that used something not paper!  Here are a few of their suggestions:  silk, burlap, metal, netting, acetate, cloth, etc -- let your imagination run wild -- we like wild!  Here is my card:
I used burlap and acetate. The image is the butterfly from Repeat Impressions new Summer Series and the sentiment Happy Birthday is from their Quartet Series. (love the script).  I stamped the butterfly with stazon on acetate, put glitter on the backside with Glossy Accents.  Using Glossy Accents keeps the glitter on the acetate and not on the card, floor, my hair, my table and everywhere it is not suppose to be.  The paper is BoBunny.

Here is a list of the Designers who made projects to inspire you.
Would you like to join with us in this challenge?  It is eazy-peazy!

Snowflower card

Suzanne Dean of Color Me Creative Classroom has stared a new group called Book Endz.  We will read a book every month and at the first of each month there will be a new book announcement.  There will be discussions and chatter at the Book Endz group page.

There will be a Book party at the first of each month and share projects that have been made in the theme of whatever boook is being read and Suzanne will have a giveaway and some fun prizes.  You can attend the party and join the group EVEN if you don't finish/read the book or make a project.  Everyone is invited to join in the fun.

This month Suzanne chose Snowflower and the Secret Fan.  This is a Great good book to begin our reading journey.  I was able to read thru the book fairly quickly because it is soooo good and I also put the Kindle application on my iphone and found myself reading the book while waiting in line at the bank, while I got my nails done and even while I was at the dentist.

Here is my card for this month:
The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions.  The blue paper is from Papertrey Ink and the oriental paper is some I've had for a very long time - there was no maker's mark.  It is like a rice paper or hand made paper.  I also used a tag die from Spellbinders.  The fans were 1/2 of the Tim Holtz flower die.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Repeat Impressions Sketch for July 27

Good Morning! We are still in the days of horrible hot weather! It has been 102-105!  Too hot to do anything but stay indoors and stamp!  This week Wendy at Repeat Impressions gave us this sketch:

This is a wonderful sketch to work with!  I took a few liberties and turned the image and came up with this card:
This uses the dandelion and sentiment in the new Repeat Impressions Summer Images, Dandelion Breeze and All your dreams.  I used some Copic markers and some MF paper and crepe paper.

Would you like to try your hand at this sketch? -- we would love to see what you can do.  Wendy will do a random drawing for a gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Just go to her blog The House That Stamps Built and link your card there.  Here are members of the Design Team that have made cards to inspire you.

Repeat Impressions Designers Choice Challenge for July 18

Today is the Designer's Choice Challenge at Repeat Impressions.  And it's my turn!  I challenge the other designer to use some glitter.  It is so hot here 104 today and looks like tomorrow will be the same --- just toooo darn hot!   So in anticipation of cooler weather I did a Christmas card with glitter.

I used the Snow Globe and Snowflakes from the Season's and Holiday series.  I also used some PK Glitter.  The globe was embossed in gold and the snowflakes in white on acetate.  I then turned the acetate over and put a thick coat of glitter on the back side of the embossed globe.  From the front this makes it look like the glitter is inside the globe.

Check out all the Christmas images from Repeat Impressions -- I decided to get a little head start - because just like so many Christmas', come Oct-Nov things around here get rolling and I get so busy at this time of the year, I don't want to run out of handmade Christmas cards.

Check out what the other team members' projects:

Thank you for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day

Creative Belli Challenge for July 20

For this Creative Belli challenge we were to use Karen's china as inspiration.  Here is her china.  Cardinals have a special place in my heart because they were one of my mom's favorite birds.  She had names for the ones who frequented the bird feeder in her backyard.

And here is my card.
Image is from Repeat Impressions

The spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!  We would love to see what you can do!

Carolina does a wonderful job of coming up with great ideas for our Blog Hops -- this time she asked us to do some paper piecing!  I LOVE paper piecing.  It gives such great dimension to scrapbook layouts or cards.   If you have come from  Jennie Harper's  blog -- then you are right on track.  If not you may want to go to Stamp TV and start at the beginning -- take a look at Gina's video -- you will get some fabulous technique ideas for paper piecing.

Ok, here is my card:

I used "Enjoy the Sunshine" stamp set.  This stamp set has a ton of images!  I also used the Melanie Muenchinger's  "A Year of Leaves" under the strawberries.

Check out what the other team members' projects:
Thanks for looking and have a HAPPY stamping day!

    Summer Camp Card #3

Here is another Summer Camp Card -- this has been a wonderful online camp and I have learned SO much already.  I'm looking forward to week 2.  Here is a card I made with the window technique that was taught this week.  The stamps are from Repeat Impressions (flag and burst).  The paper is Papertrey Ink and the little stars are from HL, the acetate is from Gina K Designs.
    Have a HAPPY stamping day!

    Challenge Card and Summer Camp

I have love the chalkboard paper my sister sent me so I made another quickie card today and then made another card for my Summer Camp.
Now all I need is to get her a piece of chalk and you can actually write on it and erase it just like a chalkboard!  The stamp is from Technique Tuesday.  Check them out -- gosh they have wonderful stamps

and Camp card from my Summer Camp gave us these color combinations and we were to choose our favorite.

I chose the second one.  The paper is from Stella Rose, I cuttlebug cut the "celebrate", flourish & corner piece, added glitter to the celebrate, made a flower, added a brad and a couple of background stickers.  The crepe paper back flower is made from MF crepe paper.  The brown flourish has a acetate top -- although you can hardly see it.

    Have a happy stamping day!!
