Card Patterns Sketch 154
Today at Card Patterns we were given this sketch to follow:
And this is my card:
I made this for a Children's Leader that I work with in Bible Study Fellowship. She is so sweet and I love being in her classroom.
The paper is from Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye. The stamp is from Gina K Designs. I used a Tim Holtz flower die and a SU border punch.
This is an easy sketch with so many possibilities. Why don't you try -- it's fun! Make a card and link it on their blog.
Thanks and have a happy stamping day

CPS Card Sketches Challenge 254
At CPS Card Sketches we were challenged to make a project using this sketch:
I like using their sketches - it gives me a starting place. I love making cards, but often don't know where to begin - colors, paper or pattern? -- So this gets me started. Here is the card I made:
The paper is from My Mind's Eye and the stamp is from Papertrey Ink. Why don't you join in the fun? Make a card and link it on their blog.

CR84FN Color Challenge 49
This week at CR84FN we were challenged with these colors:
I loved these colors because they can be fun, hippy, or even sophisticated. Here is the card I made:
I used Repeat Impressions stamps and scraps of paper from my pile. I'm trying so hard to use my giant pile of scraps. I used a CB folder on the grey, the leaf prints were embossed with silver.
Why don't you play along? This is a great color combination. The more that play along, the more inspiration we get. Here is the link. CR84FN.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday
Papertrey Ink has a "Make It Monday" challenge each Monday and today Dawn showed us how to take one of our frame stamps and stretch it. You can check out her video here.
I participated this week because several times, I've wanted to use frames only to find the sentiment or image was too large to fit my frame - so now Dawn has solved the problem ! So here is my card:
I used one of my most favorite of all stamp sets called: Studio Style. The frame stamp is from Fillable Frames Additions 1 The paper is from their new paper called Raspberry Fizz.
I made this for my sister as a "How are you doing" card. We stamp together a lot and when we don't get together I miss her. So -- Debbie, (I know she reads my blog) close your eyes, you are getting this card in the mail.
Take time this week to join in their challenge, all the details are here.

Mixed Media -- YIKES!!!
I joined a group at ColorMeCreativeClassroom with Suzanne J Dean. The group I joined is called Mix It Up Media. I joined because this is TOTALLY out of my comfort zone. I like simple, clean, easy cards -- Mixed Media is difficult(to say the least) for me! But I wanted to try my hand at it. Marti at Scrapbitzcopis, the artist directing our group, challenged us to do a google search on Mixed Media and this is what I found:
I learned it really isn't hard and I don't have to do weird things --- like putting baby heads on caterpillars and cover it with dark brown inks. I found a video that has really sparked my interest because she used light colors and flowers ---YEAH!
So, I'm saying Thank you to Marti for heading up this group and being an encourager!

Designers Choice Challenge from Joy
Today at Repeat Impressions I got to host the Designers Choice Challenge. My challenge is called "Leftovers". Just look at your craft desk and pull together some things that were "leftover" from some previous card makings.
Here is my card:
This swing card has been sitting on my "pile" for months! I started it as a Valentine's card, but just could not finish it. So today I took an image called Prescription and made this card. Wendy has a great selection of Swing cards already cut and ready to embellish. This makes it so easy to give a special card.
Here is the other side of the card:
This would be a good day to join in our challenge -- I KNOW you got scraps on your desk! --everyone does! So dig those scraps out and see what you can do. Take a look at these designers projects and then make a project and link it on Wendy's blog, The House That Stamps Built.
